Three Louisville area restaurants have received the esteemed AAA Four Diamond Rating, according to AAA East Central. These establishments maintain their status this year on the exclusive list of restaurants across North America to receive the coveted award.
“Four Diamond restaurants are committed to providing every guest with a personalized experience and attentive service in comfortable, high quality surroundings,” said Jim Lehman, President of AAA East Central. “These establishments consistently exceed the expectations of the most discriminating traveler – the AAA inspector,” he added.
AAA Four Diamond restaurants are an exclusive group, offering distinctive, creatively prepared cuisine, skillfully served in a notable environment. Only 2.1 percent of AAA Inspected & Approved restaurants – 665 – made the Four Diamond list for 2018, including 52 added this year.
More information about area restaurants receiving the AAA Four Diamond Rating include:

Good entree choices include the rack of lamb with dried cherry reduction, the Verlasso salmon and the Berkshire pork chop with collard greens. The quiet dining room, with its polished oaken paneling, Axminster wool carpets, coffered ceilings and small chandeliers, is an elegant monument to fine dining.
- Vincenzo’s Restaurant, 150 S. 5th St, a Four Diamond restaurant since 2007.
This restaurant is located in an imposing, classically designed former-bank building built in 1860. The restaurant has sophisticated decor, including a large, open entry area, upscale table settings and intimate lighting. The style of service is very formal and many dishes are prepared tableside.
- Z’s Oyster Bar & Steakhouse, 101 Whittington Pkwy, a Four Diamond restaurant since 2004.
A fine habitat for hungry carnivores, this restaurant specializes in Prime beef, including filet mignon, porterhouse steaks, veal chops and Duroc pork chops. When you order your entree, be sure to also request one of the chef's luscious soufflés. The various courses can pair well with the wines from the extensive house list.
ABOUT AAA DIAMOND RATINGS
For more than 80 years, AAA has used professional inspectors to conduct anonymous, in-person property evaluations. AAA offers the only rating system using comprehensive, on-site professional hotel and restaurant evaluations using published guidelines weighted by member priorities. With a far greater inventory than any other rating entity, AAA’s rating system covers the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
The AAA inspectors who assign these ratings have a wide range of hospitality experience – their resumes include stints as hotel managers and food and beverage experts – that gives them an authoritative perspective. Inspectors provide an unmatched first-person, on-site view of emerging trends, which includes the continuing evolution of technology to elevate the guest experience.
